Let me introduce you to the ORBIT Commuter concept.
ORBIT stands for Overhead Rail-Based Independent Transportation, and is designed to enable commuters to regain their commute time for productivity, relaxation, or restoration of their mental balance. ORBIT opens a third dimension in a traditionally two-dimensional problem and creates a completely new market in a world crowded with inadequate and unsustainable partial solutions. The key feature that sets the ORBIT solution apart from existing commuter systems is that commuters own their own electric vehicles that can leave the rail, giving them the door-to-door privacy and security lacking in current commuting solutions. After a short drive to the nearest link station, the commuter connects their vehicle to a monorail network (the ORail) that transits them individually and autonomously to another link station close to their destination. Once on the highly-efficient ORail network, the commuter can work or study, relax, or even nap – the ORBIT network system autonomously optimizes their route planning and lands them at their destination safely, even charging their vehicle while on the rail. Another short drive brings the commuter to their final destination. The grade-separated ORail de-conflicts ORBIT traffic from the primary commuting arteries of a city, further reducing surface traffic and greenhouse gas emissions, and eliminating the need for additional police and emergency services.
